SERCH ABOUT LINKIN

Linkin Park Poster

What I've Done

In this farewell
There's no blood
There's no alibi
Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

So let mercy come
And wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands
Of uncertainty

So let mercy come
And wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

For what I've done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving what I've done

I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

What I've done
Forgiving what I've done

Crawling

Crawling in my skin
These wounds, they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing what is real

There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
Consuming, confusing
This lack of self control I fear is never ending
Controlling

I can't seem
To find myself again
My walls are closing in
(Without a sense of confidence I’m convinced that there’s just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
So insecure

Chorus

Discomfort, endlessly has pulled itself upon me
Distracting, reacting
Against my will I stand beside my own reflection
It's haunting how I can't seem...

To find myself again
My walls are closing in
(Without a sense of confidence I’m convinced that there’s just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
So insecure

Chorus (Repeat until end)

There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
Consuming, confusing
This lack of self control I fear is never ending
Controlling (Whispered during chorus)

In The End

(It starts with)
One thing / I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind / I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It’s so unreal
Didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on / but didn’t even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried / it all fell apart
What it meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
One thing / I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind / I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I’m surprised it got so (far)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end
You kept everything inside and even though I tried / it all fell apart
What it meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

Linkin Park Biography

Linkin Park (formed 1996)

Linkin Park is an American nu-metal band that has won two Grammy awards and sold over fifty million albums worldwide.

Linkin Park: The Formation

Linkin Park was originally formed by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon, who all knew each other from high school in California. After graduation, Joe Hahn, Dave 'Phoenix' Farrell and Mark Wakefield joined the band. At the time, the band was known as Xero.

Xero recorded their demos in Shinoda's bedroom but failure to secure a record deal caused tensions in the band. Mark Wakefield (the vocalist at the time) and Dave Farrell both left the band.

Chester Bennington was drafted in as Wakefield's replacement. He was formerly the singer for Grey Daze and his distinctive vocal style stood out. The band changed their name to Hybrid Theory for a short time but the addition of Bennington to the band brought a new chemistry and they changed names again to Linkin Park: a homage to Lincoln Park, in Santa Monica.

Although a record deal remained elusive for some time, they eventually signed to Warner Bros. in 1999.

Linkin Park: Commercial Breakthrough

The band's debut album, Hybrid Theory was released in 2000 and was representative of the last five years of the band's work. The album sold over 4.8 million copies in its first year and was the highest-selling album of 2001.

Hybrid Theory was also nominated for three Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Best Rock Album and Best Hard Rock Performance (for 'Crawling'). They won the latter category.

Around this time, Linkin Park performed at a number of high profile events, such as 'Ozzfest, the Family Values tour and their own 'Projekt Revolution', which featured such luminaries as Cypress Hill and Snoop Dogg.

Dave Farrell re-joined the band and they began working on a follow-up album. Reanimation was a remix album that featured tracks from Hybrid Theory and featured Black Thought and Aaron Lewis, among others. The album went to number two in the Billboard 200.

Linkin Park began to write new material whilst completing their extensive promotional tour schedule. They spent some of their free time recording in the studio they had in their tour bus. The resulting album, Meteora was released in 2003 and went to number one in the US album charts. More than 800,000 copies were sold in its first week.

The band undertook another Projekt Revolution, this time with Mudvayne, Blindside and Xzibit. The band was invited by Metallica to play on the Summer Sanitarium Tour, along with Limp Bizkit and the Deftones.

A DVD entitled Live In Texas showcased some of their live performances from the tour.

Following Meteora's commercial success, the band took a brief hiatus. Shinoda worked with Depeche Mode and formed Fort Minor as a side project. Bennington also worked with DJ Lethal and Dead By Sunrise.

Another remix album surfaced, this time produced by Jay-Z and was entitled Collision Course.

Producer Rick Rubin was chosen to work on their next studio album; the release of which was delayed until 2007. Minutes to Midnight was 14 months in the making and sold over 600,000 copies in its first week on sale. It also went to number one on the Billboard 200 album charts.

The band headlined the Download festival in England as well as undertaking their fourth Projekt Revolution tour and embarking on a UK arena tour that culminated in two nights at the O2 Arena in London.

Linkin Park Info

Over the years, a lot of random information has emerged about Linkin Park, the band members, collaborations, songs and more.

Chester can't mime.

Mike claims that he can't freestyle, but when he does, he's actually pretty good at it.

At a live show in Tuscan in 2003, Brad and Joe swapped instruments to play the song "A.06".

During some of the 2004 Meteora World Tour live shows, Brad and Phoenix swapped instruments to play "Nobody's Listening".

One Step Closer has been performed as the closing song at every show the band has ever performed (As Linkin Park - Not alot is known about pre-LP shows) except for their Live8 performance in 2005.

"Nobody's Listening" was the final song to be recorded for Meteora (The Street Team recieved Meteora promo covers without Nobody's Listening listed on it). The song was finished during the mixing process, in which Chester had to redo his entire vocals for the song, due to illness.

Over the years, the band have collaborated on the live version of One Step Closer with many different artists, some of these include:
- Dilated Peoples
- Marky Chavez (of Adema)
- Wes Scantlin (of Puddle of Mudd)
- Sonny Sandovel (of P.O.D.)
- Hoobastank
- Story of the Year
- Jonathan Davis (of Korn)

LInkinPark BIO

Linkin Park is a truly unique band. They are not just Rock, Rap, or
Electronica band. They comprimise of a veritable mixture of different styles
and stylists in music, This makes them a hybrid in the type of music they
play and their fan-base too. We are true lovers of Linkin Park

Linkin Park's origin began in 1996 when rapper guitarist Brad Delson and the
infamouis Mike Shinoda started a band called Xero. Other members of the
band were Mark Wakefield the vocalist, Joseph
Hahn the DJ, Rob Bourdon the drummer, and "Phoenix" Farrell the bassist.
Xero made a four track demo tape including: Fuse, Stick N' Move, Rhinestone,
and Reading My Eyes.

When Mark Wakefield left the band, they changed their name to Hybrid
Theory. Later "Phoenix" chose to leave the band to tour with another band,
called"The Snax". The rest of the gang continued to play together primarily
for fun. They later, signed with Zomba Music an occasion that came about
when they played at The Whiskey Club in Los Angeles. The final addition to
the band came in the form of Chester Bennington.

Magical Chester, in our humble opinion, was absolutely the missing catalyst.
His extra-ordinary voice lets him deliver the lyrics at a gentle yet
aggressive pace. He can hit pitch notes like no other. Chester humbly even
blames this on "years of singing" and "scar tissue". We absolutely love him.

His arrival completed the Band. Thus in 1999 Carousel, And One, Technique,
Step up, High Voltage & Part of me were born as a six track EP, to
tremendous applause.

Some legal wrangling made it necessary to change the band's name. True to
their "hybrid' spirit Linkin Park was chosen. Members drove by Lincoln Park
regularly so why not use a similar sounding, unique name. Chester has been
recorded to say he wanted a name which was unique, "where the music could
define the name rather than the name define the music". Phoneix pulled a
mythical rebirth and rejoined the band fulfilling his destiny. New demos
were made and the chase for a record label was on. Warner Records were lucky
to hear the music, like it and sign up Linkin Park. A massive page in their
history was written.

Linkin Park released their debut album, Hybrid Theory In October 2000,. Hits
like One Step Closer, Crawling, and In The End were born. Hybrid Theory
eventually received 8x platinum. Hybrid Theory does not follow a trend set
up by a lot of other bands in that it doesn't contain any curses or swear
words. This was because the band wanted to write lyrics honestly and they
thought that unnecessary swear words take away attention from the music.
They wanted something that the public could listen to over and over again
and enjoy repeatedly. At it's completion they felt they had achieved this
feat with Hybrid Theory.

After Hybrid Theory was released, Linkin Park's fame permitted them to tour
all over the world. They toured with bands like POD, 3 Doors Down, and
System Of a Down.

July of 2002, saw LP release the Hybrid Theory Remix album, Reanimation.
These remixes included talent from rappers like Black Thought and 20 tracks
were cut.

In March of 2003, LP released their 2nd year album, Meteora. This album
includes hits like Somewhere I Belong, Numb,, and Faint. Included on Meteora
and Reanimation were ground breaking extras. They contained enhanced
portions. These parts of the discs included videos and other extra 'goodies"
fans could view on their PC. The band wanted to use technology and let the
fans to see the process of making albums . This helped them share all the
"Blood, Sweat and Tears," they put into making the albums .

Linkin Park has won numerous awards including an award at the VMAs. Their
popularity has grown world-wide. They are now truly international with a
multitude of fans. From their hybrid genres to their non offensive
swear-free lyrics, to their use of turntables and samples, Linkin Park cover
a truly versatile ground and provide an entertaining and unique performance

LinkinPark INTRO

At the end of 2004, Linkin Park collaborated with Jay-Z to release Collision Course. Included in the album are seven Linkin Park songs and six Jay-Z songs. The album debut at No. 1 on the charts, and the first single, "Numb/Encore," also hit No. 1. Linkin Park played at Live 8 and at Music for Relief in 2005. Linkin Park recently reached a new deal with their record label, Warner Brothers. At the 2006 Grammy Awards Ceremony, Chester Bennington hinted to Rolling Stone magazine that the upcoming Linkin Park release would be "dark and spooky, poppy and very melodramatic" and unlike other Linkin Park releases.

LinkinPark INTRO

Linkin Park's debut album Hybrid Theory was released in October 2000. In 2001, Linkin Park won a Grammy award for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Crawling," the second single off of Hybrid Theory. Shortly thereafter, Linkin Park joined Ozzfest for their first national tour. In 2002, Linkin Park embarked on their first headlining tour Projekt Revolution. July 2002 saw the release of the remix of Hybrid Theory entitled Reanimation. Over 50 different artists submitted remixes for the album and Mike Shinoda hand-picked them himself. Linkin Park headed back to the studio in 2002 to record their sophomore release, Meteora. Meteora was released in March 2003 and debuted at No. 1 after selling over 800,000 copies in the first week.

Linkin Park released a new live CD/DVD Live in Texas in 2003. The footage came from the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003 shows in Dallas and Houston. The beginning of 2004 saw Linkin Park on their "Meteora World Tour" with P.O.D., Hoobastank, and Story of the Year. Following that tour, Linkin Park set off on their third leg of the Projekt Revolution Tour. This time, the Project Revolution Tour features two stages and Revolution Village, all of which were very similar to the Warped Tour or Ozzfest. Revolution Village featured various types of entertainment such as video game kiosks and batting cages.

LinkinPark INTRO

Linkin Park hails from Los Angeles is and considered to be somewhat of a nu metal band. Often considered the most successful of the nu metal genre because the Linkin Park debut Hybrid Theory has sold 19 million copies. Linkin Park began in 1994. Singer Chester Bennington joined Grey Daze upon his gradation from Washington High School. After Grey Daze released two albums, Chester Bennington decided to leave the band. Two years later, guitarist Brad Delson and emcee Mike Shinoda were recent graduates of Agoura High School. They met with drummer Rob Bourdon and began playing together while the three were in college. Then the three of them joined forces with bassist Dave Farrell. A few years later, Brad Delson began in internship with Warner Brothers Records A&R representative Jeff Blue. It was Jeff Blue who brought in Chester Bennington. With the addition of Chester Bennington and bassist Kyle Christener, the band released their first self-titled EP as the band Hybrid Theory in mid-1999. Later that year, the band was forced to change its name, and Chester Bennington suggested Lincoln Park thanks to the park he drove by on his way to the recording studio. He felt as though it would be a good name for a band thanks to the fact there were Lincoln Parks all over the United States and therefore the band might be recognized as a local band no matter where they played. The spelling was changed to Linkin so the band could purchase the domain name Linkinpark.com.

INFO

Linkin Park is a rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Since their formation in 1996, the band has sold more than sixty million albums and won two Grammy Awards. They achieved mainstream success with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005. Their following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200’s album charts in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world.

Recognized for their adaptation of the nu metal genre into a radio-friendly yet densely-layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band moved away from this and explored a variety of other genres in their latest studio album, Minutes to Midnight. The album topped the Billboard Charts and had the third best debut week of any album that year. They are also known for their several collaborations, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mash-up album Collision Course, and many other artists on Reanimation.
